Retirement sale final week tent event

Click here to see some pics.

It's the last week of our owners' retirement sale.  Our new owners are here planning for the exciting future of FWS.  Great things are in store!  In the meantime, we need to get rid of a lot of inventory to make room for new products on order.

We are not exaggerating when we say we easily have 1500 bolts of fabric.  There are so many fabrics stuffed into every storage area in our building that we honestly don't know how many we have.  So, we're counting them and marking them way down.  We just need rack space and a manageable amount of stock.  Then there's the drapery hardware, decorative trims, tassels, tiebacks, sewing supplies, upholstery supplies...oh my!  Our goal for the future is a lean, mean "sewing machine" of a fabric department.  Stylish modern patterns, popular designer hardware, and quick ship special order programs with affordable textile makers will all be features of the new FWS fabric department.  Oh and don't forget about closeouts.  There will always be closeouts.

The same can be said for the flooring department.  If you're in the market for carpet, we should be your only stop.  Between our building and the warehouse, we could carpet Elmwood Avenue.  And it would look awesome.  However, that's not realistic.  So, we'll just sell it to you for a great low price.  The same can be said about area rugs.  We have the same goal with this area of the store.  Smaller inventory with more choices of styles, patterns, textures and colors in carpeting and area rugs.  We will still offer installation services, and we're planning some online resources to make the process simpler and faster.

And onto the centerpiece of any room, the furniture department.  Tons of unique one-only sofa sets, chairs, tables, dining rooms, living rooms, and bedrooms dominate our showrooms.  While it is all very beautiful, it has caused some issues in our supply chain.  In furniture, we are working on bringing in stylish select groups which will always be in stock (or only a week away on a truck coming to Buffalo).  Then there will be quick ship special order items for you do-it-yourselfers.  Now here's the best part - large portions of our showrooms will be dedicated to closeout furniture pieces.  Manufacturers around the world know us as a destination for canceled custom orders, factory overruns, warehouse overstocks and the like.  They often come to us and ask if we have the room to make a deal and buy these items.  We love getting those calls.

We're excited.  We're getting back to the heart of what makes FWS great in Buffalo.  You're going to get a great quality product with our stamp of approval.  If it isn't everything you wanted it to be, we will do whatever it takes to make sure it is.  And it's not going to cost you a fortune.  We live in Western New York - we love getting a great deal too.  It's why we love being a closeout specialist.

Robert Allen fabric finishes the room

Our web/marketing guy Andy finished his very first sewing project with a lot of help from our fabric associate Letitia.  The fabric is made by Robert Allen.  It's called Lillith and the color is Marigold.  It is 100% cotton.  Several yards are still available on the bolt for a bargain price of $11.99 per yard!  Andy finished the panels with snap-on grommets from our drapery hardware collection.

We're Hiring!

It's been a busy couple of months in the fabric department.  Everyone seems to be racing to finish those winter projects as the weather begins to warm.  We may be a little biased but there is no better place than Western New York to watch nature come back to life after the long winter.  We'll be hanging the outdoor fabrics before you know it and planning for summer garden parties.

Do you or someone you know love to sew and have some free time?  We are hiring for the fabric department.  Email your resume to jobs@fwsfurnitureonline.com if you are interested in picking up a part-time job with night and weekend hours.
